Congrats ActionJack your Idea has been implemented to some extent!!!
A couple of mine got picked up too but not till a little later. IE guild storage and guild market vendors...

See guys They really do listen to the community...

And I would much rather see Anet make the gold pieces I have more valuable rather then inject more gold and make what I already have less valuable in doing so... Econ 101. Adding currency to a market does nothing to secure the value of said currency. this is a typical inflation tactic. A steel ingot cost 50 gold, inject 50 million gold into the same market and now an iron ingot cost 90 gold... same value and demand... More gold to purchase however... that's inflation... In the real world I point to the YEN. and nuff said...

Reminds me of the "Skill Points" in the Ratchet and Clank games.

actually, I would want to see more of a de-valuizing of the gold. The gold now, in player mind, is being place too high of value from what it is suppose to be. However, they keep earing them, since they think "More Gold = I am more powerful = Its more fun". Would be good to the game if people start to see that they are just a game currency, and that holding lots gold doesn't make you "all that". Like if you play Monopoly... how many people will actually hold on to their money and take them to bed when the game is over? This make the game more causual.. where a game is a "game".

sigh... you get me side track to the other topic....
But to get back on it... Be sure to take a look at the "Stats Window and Badge " thread... I think badges will be another good addtion to the game.

Oh god, that would make me puke. I hate high rank people who think they're kings of some video game, I mean these types of people (elitists) shouldn't be bragging about something others don't care about. Just plain annoying. Sure I wish I had rank but I'm fine PvEing and doing RA and hvaing fun, the game is nothing competetive like that to me. Just fun win or lose type game.

I hope they don't come up with that many titles.

Acended, one for beating all missions in a chapter, one for beating all missions and bonus in a chapter, one for dominance in certain PvPs, one for dominance in all PvP. I would hope that titles would be limited to large combined accomplishments, and sequenced in an order of obvious progression, or more simply, the next title is everything plus what the last title was, so multiple mini titles arn't prevalent.

This reminds me of FFXI, where you had title alterations every time you beat a quest or mission, which basicly ment nothing because people didn't even bother to read them. The only ones of significance were the titles for beating serious monsters or impressive accomplishments, so having all those meaning less titles isn't worth adding, they might as well keep it among titles of significance, rather than, "Fort Ranik, Speed Completion".

I did not see it anywhere in this post...but maybe I missed it. This would mean a huge d-base of stats...the amount of data that would have to be tracked would be enormous...the errors involved...the complaining about how come a stat or TITLE did not post yet...the list goes on and on...here take a look at this link and see the worthless amount of stats that this games covers...(this is the top listed player)

first of all, title is not stats.
Title will be in the game. (thought there will only be like 4 or 5 of them, which is differnt from the original OP)

I think the server and modern day database is powerful enought to keep track of all the stats. The maintaince and possibly new equipment/program needed might get expansive, but that will have to be up to the dev to make a cost-output analysis.

However, I do find you use of BF as example to be strange.... as it prove that keeping such complex stats, even the useless one, is easily possible and achieve-able.

And do keep in mind of the differnt audiences. While you may not be entertain by such stats and title tracking, other might. So /sign it according not only to your taste, but to its possible benefit to the game. (but of couse, I am also not here to say your opinion is wrong )

Allow me to step back and start over...the idea of TITLES in the game would be interesting, if kept within reason. Attainable titles based on LVL advancement would be nice...but would obviously stop at the 20th. Titles based on what locations you have visited and what missions you have completed...i dont know. Titles based on time on the game...you could have a lvl 1 who just sits in pre-searing and becomes a "demi-god" before he/she has completed the rez sig mission. Item based titles would seem odd, not that it could not have merit, but that would have to be seriously scrutinized and have to be something that would not take away from the current economy of the game. Perhaps open the character classes to merchant or bard or something...

Perhaps my use of BF2 maintaining stastics was in haste...while it is true that current technology would handle a simple statical d-base, the illustration I used has had many, many issues. I have played it since it began.a I will stop at that thought.

To avoid a long post...I merely pointed out that I did not see anyone mention that stats would be tracked. The method, programs, whatever are available, but IMO it could create alot of confusion and how would it be fair to those of us who have played GW for a while? How would the current players be "grandfathered?"

/signed for the benefits of the game only!

Many of the titles will be retroactive. You could possibly have a high title already. Current players have no disadvantage to people just buying GW.
